October? Whaaaa?

Posted by anonymous on October 19, 2011 at 2:50 AM

Hey kids and kiddos,

how did we get to October already? We've been a busy bunch over here. We did a video for Box of Wolves called "Morning" that turned out really well, despite the weather hating us that day. We also uploaded a few behind the scenes videos, one for that clip and one for Brian James' "Crazy Love", check them out right here on The Next Reel (which may be coming back to TV, schedules permitting).

Mostly, we've been crazy busy with our duties at The Uniter (the University of Winnipeg urban weekly) where I'm into my first semester as the Arts & Culture Editor. Kaeleigh and David have been contributing as well, check out almost everything we've written right here. I've got a phenomenal staff of volunteers and beat reporters working with me and I definitely couldn't do it without them!

We also went into the studio with Dave's band, the Manic Shakes, and the chaos that ensued was caught on camera, becoming part of our In Studio With ... series. If you're a Winnipeg band going into the studio and wouldn't mind being captured on camera, please let us know!

We are scheduled to shoot a video with the Manic Shakes at the beginning of November, so stay tuned for that as well ...

Another way I've spent my time lately has been TAing the advanced filmmaking class at the University of Winnipeg, working with one of my favourite guys in the world, John Kozak. He even talked me into writing the script for the class film. It's a relationship piece (with a twist) ...

On Sunday I shot the poster pics for local favourites Quinzy's annual Quinzmas concert, and we're also going to be doing a promo spot, so watch for that as well!

Thanks to everyone who checks out our work. It truly means the world to us.

-Nick
